In Enter 77 we found out that the directions led to The Flame Station.

According to Mikhail Bakunin in "Enter 77", there are several cables that run from The Flame to all the other DHARMA stations, to the barracks, and to a beacon in the ocean which aids in the submarine's sonar navigation. He describes the main purpose of the cable as being "for communication".

Sayid also finds a map in the basement of The Flame which gives the layout of how the cables run. He uses this to track down the barracks.

Mikhail Bakunin is the real name for the character known in production as Patchy. The press release for "Enter 77" first revealed his full name as Mikhail Bakunin.

In Enter 77, he claims to be the last living member of the DHARMA Initiative, however he later admits that he was not a member of the Initiative and is one of the Others.
