As we saw in One of Us, Ben, Mikhail and Alpert can communicate to the Outside would via the Flame Station.

In Enter 77 we found out that the directions led to The Flame Station.

This was confirmed in Enter 77 as being the Flame Station.

According to Mikhail Bakunin in "Enter 77", there are several cables that run from The Flame to all the other DHARMA stations, to the barracks, and to a beacon in the ocean which aids in the submarine's sonar navigation. He describes the main purpose of the cable as being "for communication".

Sayid also finds a map in the basement of The Flame which gives the layout of how the cables run. He uses this to track down the barracks.
