    As explained in "The Constant", there is a phenomenon that happens to people who come near the Island who have been exposed to high levels of radiation or electromagnetism. In Desmond's case, it was electromagnetism from the Swan station imploding. For Minkowski, it was radiation from his communication station. For Daniel Faraday, it was from doing all those experiments on Eloise without wearing his protective gear over his head.

    In "The Constant", we discover that time appeared to flow slower for the helicopter on route to the Freighter than it did for the Island or the Freighter. Sayid makes a comment about how they took off at dawn, and arrived in the afternoon. Faradays notes to Jack that the helicopter wasn't really gone as long as he thought it had. To *Jack* it seemed like a day, but to the helicopter, it was just a short flight.

    What is the 'IT' that the Ice Station men have found?

    In "The Constant", Penny tells Desmond that she knows about the Island, and has been looking for him for three years. So, the "IT" is confirmed to be the Island.

    How does Naomi know that Penny is searching for Desmond?

    As revealed by George Minkowski in "The Constant", Naomi's freighter was receiving regular calls from Naomi, looking for Desmond (Minkowski knew Desmond's name from Penny's calls).

    As we found out in The Brig, the Helicopter took off from a ship about 18km from the Island looking for Desmond.

    In Live Together Die Alone we find out that Desmond went back to his boat and tried to sail away. He says that the only land he found was this island.
